Update of My Life and Feelings in Santiago

Zoe talking to me by Skype :D
Well, its the middle of June and I am surprised to say that the days are going by fast which makes me feel great! My trip to Minnesota is only a month away and already my head is swimming with what to bring there and what to bring back. My thoughts are no longer completely concentrated on home and friends back in the States. Everything seems to be falling together right now. Rodrigo and I are doing great. We have begun the process of getting him a visa into the United States. There's a lot of paperwork and things that we will be sending to the US next week. I just pray that everything runs smoothly in the States and his interview here with the US consulate goes well. I will feel even better when he has his visa in his hands, his plane ticket booked, and everything ready to go. The weather here is getting cold. At night we can see our breath in out bedroom. I am so glad that we have central heating in the office and I can crank it up as high as I want in my office. Being warm keeps me in a good mood. Life at the house has been less stressful. No major yelling and screaming fits lately. (I'm not the one yelling and screaming, that would be the mom in law) I think Zoe just keeps us busy enough that our days are full. My thought as to why the days are going by so fast. She has figured out how to get out of the area we set up for her. In every way possible. She also figured out how to get onto our bed. I was sleeping this morning. She was on the ground when Rodrigo left for college today. When all of the sudden there was a tiny little tongue licking my ear. I turned over fast and the little thing just gave me a haha I'm smarter than you thought look. I was surprised by the fact that she got up there, her being such a tiny little thing. I set her back on the ground so I could see how she got up. She climbs onto her bed, then climbs on the edge of it stands on her hind legs and digs into our bed with her little claws and pulls herself up. She seems to be so proud of it. It makes me worried about leaving her alone the few hours that we do each day, but I think she'll be ok. Soon we will have to figure out a way to potty train her. She already knows to go on the newspaper and she knows to go on the grass when she is outside. I want to find some way to teach her to let us know when she wants to go outside. I think I might find some jingle bells and hang them from the door and try to teach her to ring them when she wants to go out. My friend's dog used to do this so I'm going to give it a try. Work has been really slow lately. Which causes tension in the office. Most of the problems here have been worked out. My boss comes from Argentina next week. I hope everything goes well. The 4th of July is coming up. One of my favorite holidays. Though I am most likely going to hate it here just like every other holiday I have spent here. I requested to have the day off of work and was given the stupidest bullshit answer!! "Chile has many holidays as you know, and you get to have all of them off. It wouldn't be fair if you had that day off because you get our Independence Day off. Blah blah blah"....GO to hell!!! Not that its going to be the same anyways. No fireworks, no picnic, no summery day with a nice summery night to follow. Oh well. There's always next year right?? I guess that's about all I have to say right now. Love lots!
