#2.....No Potty Talk Here!

I would like to first start by saying this is the 5th post I have written since I last posted. So where are the other posts?? Unfinished blabs of worthless thought that will sit in the DRAFT section.

I last wrote about a list, and I have been lazily working on #1, -3lbs....BUT I am soooo ready to begin #2!!! I have everything planned out as best as a person of very little sewing machine experience can. I suppose I should follow the DIY tips I found on google, but I don't exactly have the back part of the quilt yet, so if I screw up its for sure my own fault.
I have already made the face of a throw pillow. It looks good, so I am ready to tackle the quilt!! Since I still can't figure out the uploading picture thing, I just have 2 pics.

On another note weather. Last week it was hot, the day before Ro left, it rained and rained and the same as the day he left and then the day after it was kind of cool, not too bad. Then this week its chilly!! It looks like a beautiful day to sit outside and read, but when I walked out, I thought otherwise!! I could possibly read out there if I crawled into a sleeping bag and put on a hat and scarf. Doesn't that sound comfy and relaxing? Hahaha.

What the HELL!

I dont know what the fuck is going on with this shit. Blogger must have changed something. Ro with Carl after his football game. Huskers WON!! Ro and I with Evalie eating Ro's tie at my cousin's wedding. Ro in Lindbergh park, nice reflection. Me and Lynn and Evalie doing an "art project." Ro on the fourwheeler. I uploaded more pics, but I don't know where the heck they went......

I am not home.....

Rodrigo landed in Chile this morning. Yesterday was pretty rough, it's so hard to to be away from him again. We have spent 9 months together since we were last separated. So since I am not 100% sure on the day we will next be together, I have many pictures to upload and many goals that I want to accomplish in my spare time. So onto a list and since I have no idea how to upload pics....I thought there was a button up there....

1. Get rid of the chub that I gained from coming home!!
2. Sew a jean quilt. (Seriously, I started this project 3 years ago! I should be able to finish it now... I have 180 squares now and I just have to sew it all together!)
3. Sew a little cushion/bed for Zoe.
4. Pay off one credit card.
5. Enjoy the fact that I am so close to family now, so go visiting. A LOT!
6. Learn how to cook more dishes with almost nothing.
7. Go back and enjoy some of my hobbies I haven't had time to do. (Candle making, painting, writing, reading!!)
8. Fish and hunt whenever possible. (The hunting part sounds cruel...I have yet to take the life of an animal other than a fish, but I eat the meat, so.....)
9. Go through and organize all that I own, label it so I always know where stuff is.
10. Prepare for Canada. Job, apartment, everything!

Nice Weekend

Ro and I had a pretty nice weekend. We had a garage sale on Friday and Saturday and ended up making about $75. Not too shabby!! :D My mom gave us a little break on Saturday and she handled the garage sale while Ro and I took Zoe out on a little adventure. We went to a dam close to where I live and Ro took lots of pictures and I looked for cross rocks. I didn't find any complete ones, just little pieces. We got a few cool pictures of Ro and Zoe. Of me. Bleh! Zoe decided to swim around and play a little bit. After that we went to Lindbergh Park. I showed Ro Charles A. Lindbergh's house and I kind of can't believe he doesn't know who he is... We went on some trails and Zoe again went for a swim in a little creek, we got some more great pics of Ro and Zoe. So all in all it was a pretty fun and relaxing day. Sunday we went to Little Falls to the craft fair. We bought Ro's mom a present and wandered around for half the day. We visited my Grandma and my aunt and went home extremely tired. It was a fun weekend. I would post pictures, but I have no idea what is wrong with this computer.
As this is the last week Ro is here before he heads back to Chile, I am trying to spend as much time with him as I can, but really he seems more interested in his stupid computer, ipod, psp, anything...... :(

The sun will come out tomorrow!!

When everything in my life gets all dark and blurry and it looks like everything is going to just keep going wrong, the sun comes out for a bit!! I had my first call back for a job interview in 3 MONTHS!!! So I had an interview today. Hopefully I get the job. Ro and I also went out today. We went to the mall just to look around. I hate going to the mall. Well, I hate going to the mall when I have NO money. So we only wandered around for a half an hour. Then we returned a watch Ro bought yesterday when he was "going out to eat" at least that's what he decided to tell me. The day after our anniversary, he woke up and left. And when I texted him, he said he went out to eat. Which made me furious! I was pissed that he wouldn't buy me flowers, but he would leave me in bed and go out to eat!!!! I was so pissed off that when he came home I was ready to scream. Then he told me come bring in groceries. Which made me even madder because we live with my parents and they just bought groceries and we didn't need anything special! So I went out to get the groceries because I was trying to get the dishes washed and he handed me 12 pretty red roses. So he made me cry and he bought himself a watch that didn't work. So anyways we exchanged it today. And then we went to Space Aliens to eat. It was fun. My food was ok. I won't ever get it again. And Ro and I have decided that we will never get nachos with jalapenos on them. I had a really strong "lunar" island ice tea that if I would have had one more my ass would have been kicked. It was nice to get some Ro and Shan time. We really needed it. Tomorrow we have to watch Evalie and I will probably pick some more apples and make sort of baked good. Evalie is getting so big I can't believe it sometimes. She has the cutest smiles ever!! And she has more than one! She has he hammy cheese smile. Her mouth full of peas smile. Her Aunty you are crazy smile. Her I'm awake smile. And a million and a half more. I have been asked a few times now from other people about what Ro and I feel about having kids now that we have been taking care of an infant for 3 months. They usually ask if taking care of a baby makes us want to have one sooner or later. Well I have mixed answers on this. Ro says later. Period. Later. But it really does make me want to have a baby right now. And I know that we just can't do that. We aren't in a stable enough lifestyle to raise a baby. So yes, taking care of someone else's baby does make me want a baby right now. And really badly. I hear about everyone else that is expecting and I get really really jealous. I dream about having babies. I look at clothes at the store and imagine my baby wearing them. But before I get all crazy, I think of all those clothes and how I would not be able to afford them. And then I slip back down to reality and go look for clothes that Evalie can wear. Today Ro and I found a onesie that I really really really wanted to get. It had a stick baby on it and above that is said me, a lady stick person and above it is said Mommy, and then it had a man stick person and above that is had asshole. Perfect. No need to say more. Ro also spotted one of those funny teeth nuks and he wanted to get that. While we were in Claire's I found a super freaking cute pair of fairy wings. Why on Earth would a 5 month old need those?!?! She can't even bounce and dance around pretending she's a fairy, butterfly, or angel!!! But it would make a good picture!!! I didn't buy them. :D Ro always says he doesn't want to have a kid yet, but that's only when Evalie is throwing a fit. But then when she is all happy and lovey he says don't worry we will have one soon. Or if we are shopping he can pick out a prego woman faster than I can! And he always says I can't wait til you are like that. Why am I still awake?!!?

One Year and on

Looking back, it feels like forever ago Rodrigo and I walked in and had our 15 minute civil marriage ceremony. A lot has happened in the past year. We have managed to finally get to the US together, Rodrigo has met my family and has lived my Minnesota country girl life. Friends have come and gone, but Ro and I have stood together. I had higher expectations for today, but like anything that I think is a big deal and deserves flowers and showers of spoiling love, Rodrigo finds unnecessary. Don't think badly of him, he just thinks that no matter how happy it would make me, spending money on something that isn't going to last longer than a week or two is, well a waste. So what does that mean for me?? No flowers. No chocolate. And usually no presents. I have an opinion myself about this, I think it is stupid. I think I should get flowers on our anniversary, I think I should get presents on my birthday and Christmas. But as much as I want them I know that Ro probably will not get me any of such no matter how much I hint and how much he finds another excuse and I easily find a way around that excuse. For example, Rodrigo couldn't buy me flowers because I am always with him and since we just have the car, I have to go with him. Well, we live with my family, my brother drives into town everyday for college, he could easily pick up something for Ro. Ro can't do that because he is scared to ask and thinks its stupid to ask. My mom goes to town to work everyday. But of course he can't ask her either because he is scared. So I guess I hoped for the last week that he would surprise me only to get let down.....again. Anyways. I am over that. He didn't do anything for me and it made me mad so I in turn decided that I didn't want to take him out to eat. My plan. So the whole day was a mess of me being bitter and him ignoring me.

Continuing on with life, I have been having a hard time lately. I just can't put my mind around being away from Rodrigo again and as much as I want to think that September 22nd is far away, we really only have 2 free weekends left and no money to do anything during the weeks. I am trying to plan out my life away from Ro by starting lots of time consuming projects. I have a whole Rubbermaid tote filled with what used to be jeans, but I have now cut all the seams and buttons, zippers, and whatnots out of. I am planning on making a nice big warm jean quilt. I also found some fleece to make Zoe some warm sweaters for the winter and to make Evalie some cute pink mittens and a hat. Speaking of Zoe, last night she got into a pile of prickers....I don't know the technical name for them, but I have been calling them prickers since I was 3 feet tall so we'll go with that. Anyways, Zoe's pretty Yorkie hair and prickers do not get along. So we had major problems. So I got out the good old Wahl pet grooming clippers and went to town. And beyond. I have come to the conclusion that it is a very good thing that I am not a dog groomer. Zoe's face looks like a Scottie's face, she has a mane because she wouldn't let me clip it, her front left leg is COMPLETELY buzzed, her back left leg is buzzed down to the foot so there's a nice big poof, and her right legs are both furry and nothing clipped off. I think I better just take a pic and put it up. Projects....apples. We have a beautiful crop of apples this year which is good because I love apples, but lots of work!! Frozen apple pie, apple pie in a jar, applesauce, and apple butter all canned and stored away in the garage for now. I baked apple pie all day yesterday, made apple bars today, and I have to make apple muffins tomorrow for my parents to take on their Labor Day get away. Speaking of. I have NO idea what the heck Labor day is. I understand that it is a holiday and it has always been in my mind, the day before school starts so I don't know how to explain it to Ro. Along with all the sewing and cooking projects going on, I have gone through all of my belongings and now have them priced and ready for a garage sale. Fun fun. Well I'm tired and I have a feeling I will be woken by a screaming angel in the morning. For anyone looking for an inspiring book, I have come across an old favorite of mine, Things Trees Know by Douglas Wood.

Sometimes wanting something bad enough just isn't enough.

Rodrigo is going back to Chile on the 22nd of September. I will be staying here.
No, we are not breaking up. We may have tripped on a few bumps these past few months, but we got up and continued on.
It is now September. Everyone is really starting to pay attention to the back to school adds that have been around for a couple months now. The air is even starting to cool. Which isn't much to say as is has been frickin cold here and I don't mean like 32 degrees or anything but it was an unusually cool summer. I am going through all of my belongings, EVERYTHING!! And getting rid of garbage, saving all I need for memories, and selling things that have little meaning to me and that I really don't need anymore. So we are going to have a garage sale!! :D I haven't done this for a very long time. It actually amazes me that I have so much stuff!!
I found many unfinished projects that I started and now clearly I have plenty of time to finish them. So while Rodrigo is gone, I will continue to look for a job and then work on finishing a few projects here.
So for now our future looks a bit cloudy like always, but we are planning a few things. Canada looks to be the next stop for us so I will start readying the winter gear and will be ready when the time comes to pack up my life and move on again.
