Thankful

Yes, I am a day late in writing this, but I wouldn't have anything to write if it wasn't for yesterday and this morning. So, I am thankful that yesterday is OVER!!! Not that it was a bad day or anything. The evening, night, and morning that followed are the story. Last night when we got home from work then Lider, we noticed that my dog was glued to a cabinet in the kitchen. She sat there wagging her happy little tail. Then got up ran along the cabinet and laid down and wagged again, at first I thought she was just being slightly retarded, because she does that sometimes. Then of course Ro said, "What if there's a rat in there?" Well, there was a mouse in there. A little ugly black one. Because I am afraid of things that are smaller than me and move faster than me I decided to take action by standing on a chair and holding a broomstick as a weapon. Ro decided to be brave and trap the mouse in the kitchen with a body board or boogie board or whatever they are called. Then he went in the kitchen and the mouse ran under his legs and he screamed like a school girl. So, we of course had to call for backup. Ro's uncle came with his brother in law to kill the mouse for us. Nico, Ro's best friend, showed up later. Since yesterday was Thanksgiving and I of course wanted to have a video chat with my family, I just stood on a chair while talking to them and let the men handle the mouse problem. My family was busy celebrating so I didn't get to talk much, but while I was talking Ro scared the shit out of me by acting like the mouse ran out of the kitchen towards me. I of course screamed like a school girl and was swearing at him while my family laughed. I said goodbye to them and the mouse was still in the kitchen so I went and watched. They were trying to smoke the mouse out of the cabinet when out came not only the mouse, but a few corner spiders. Apparently there is a nest in the cabinet under the sink. I would say that I am 10 times more afraid of spiders than I am of mice so this just made my night! After all visible spiders were killed and the mouse too we went to bed. It took me a long time to fall asleep and shake the creepy crawly feeling. I would have loved to have taken a shower, but I wasn't in the mood to heat up water for my caveman shower. Today everything was going fine, I was cleaning up the ashes in the kitchen and washing the dishes. Then I was on a video chat with my mom and niece. :) She can say my name now and she's such a ham!! Anyways, we were talking about what I was going to do for Christmas and about how I'm going to get a tree and make it all glorious and sparkly and set up the little plaster or clay Nativity set that I have. I then went to get the set so I could show her. We keep it in a shoe box. I opened it and almost had a heart attack. Instead I chose to panic and grabbed the bottle of windex that happened to be sitting close by. I sprayed the spider, the nest and the egg sack, closed the box, slid it off the table into a plastic bag with a wooden spoon, tied the bag and threw it outside in direct sunlight so it would bake to death! At least that is what I am hoping!! So now, I need to get ready for work, I itch all over again, and all I can think about is how we must buy Raid and lots of it and how I am going to spray every corner and dark place in the house. We probably should buy 2 cans right away. Sigh.... I hate spiders and I hate mice, so I am thankful that yesterday is over!!

Life

So, I haven't been a very good blogger. I have a hard time finding things to write about. Work has been going good so far. I am happy with my job. Zoe spent a week at her boyfriend's  house, but nothing happened. Well, she tried to get with a younger male dog and he was too little yet to do anything. So, we are waiting til the next time she goes into heat and the little dog will be old enough then to breed with her. So, no puppies. I was kind of excited about it, but oh well. Other than that I haven't had anything to write about. I have been very homesick lately especially now with the holidays coming up. I probably won't be on here much anymore, at least until I have something to write about. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!!

Teaching English and Zoe

Before I started this job, I was sure that I wouldn't like teaching English. Yesterday was my first real day of work and I was supposed to have 4 classes, but I didn't have any because no students in my level showed up. So, today I wasn't really sure if I was excited, but I definitely wasn't as nervous as I was yesterday. I had 3 out of 4 classes today. And honestly, teaching English isn't as difficult as I thought. Because I don't have a high level of Spanish, I have students that have a higher level of English. The classes are fairly simple, and if we finish the lesson a little early we can all just sit and talk. So, as of now, I like teaching English.
I only work part time right now. Not that I wouldn't love to work full time, but the place I am working doesn't need anyone full time right now. So, I took what I could get and I'm happy about it for right now.

In other news, Zoe went into heat and tomorrow she will meet her boyfriend and hopefully some love will happen. Her boyfriend's owner has been breeding Yorkshires for many years and I am very glad that we have him and our vet to help us with this process. This will be her first litter and Ro and I aren't sure if we will have her bred again. Zoe comes from a very fine family line and over half the dogs in her family tree are champions. This is one of the main reasons we have chosen to have her bred. We paid a good deal of money for her and I really want her blood to continue being contributed to the Yorkshire breed. We don't plan on breeding her every time she goes into heat. And I personally don't want to have her bred a billion times. If she doesn't have any complications then maybe we will breed her again next year. After that we are probably going to have her fixed. I am really excited that one of her puppies will go to Ro's grandma. I am also planning on keeping another little girl for Zoe to have as a companion because I feel like she gets lonely now that she doesn't have my parent's dogs to play with. I have been doing a lot of research, and our vet has been very helpful. I think we are ready for this, and having a part time job for now will probably be a good thing. Well, that's all because its late and I'm tired. : )
