So, as we were laying bed one night, Rodrigo decided to tell me what he found that day. I was fine with it, we put Zoe on the floor because she was being a little brat. So he told me that he saw a really really big spider, I said really?? Kind of thinking his idea of big was you know the size of a quarter. He said yeah I even took a picture of it. Then I said where??? He told me outside. Yeah ok fine a spider outside. He showed me the picture, and not only was the spider gi-freaking-gantic!!!! But it wasn't outside!!! It was "outside of our bedroom door!!" As you can see in the picture the size of it!! I was horrified!! I immediately took Zoe off the ground thinking a spider that big could kill her if it was poisonous. I have no idea what kind of spider it is, Rodrigo told me that it is poisonous, and the only poisonous spider I know of here is the Chilean Recluse and it is similar to the brown recluse that we have in Minnesota, which I have never seen other than in pictures of first aid books. It's also looks like the hobo spider which I have seen in Montana when my friend found one in her shower!! So I looked it up, and it is the Chilean Recluse you can kind of see the tiny violin on its back. The creepiest looking thing ever!! Since Rodrigo found this wonderful creature I have been more careful with everything. I jump on my slippers before I put them on, turn my socks inside out before I put them on, thoroughly shake my jeans, shirts and other clothes, and before I get in the shower I put the water on as hot as it goes and run water on the ground to make sure none are under the shower mat. I also lift all the covers off the bed and remake it one layer at a time checking each layer for any creepy crawlies. You can imagine how well I slept that night, making sure Zoe stayed on the bed with us and every little movement made me jump!!! love lots!

as soon as i saw this photo i thought oh noooooo, but thank god no one (and no dog either!) was bitten. this is the araña de rincón and is really dangerous! i've been conditioned into being terrified of the things (granted, after looking up photos on google of what these spiders can do to you) but really, take it seriously! since you have a little puppy, putting poison around isn't exactly key, but especially since you have a puppy be careful. things that scare me most about chile: earthquakes, arañas de rincón and armed flaites.
That's scary! I'm more afraid of spiders than I am of snakes or anything else, so that would freak me out too! Oh, and I definitely have a countdown going for my job: 29 days of it left, haha... I can't wait! :)
