Well, my birthday wasn't all that exciting. I did have a bbq and had friends over, though I was quite bored most of the time. My friends pretty much stood in groups talking to each other in Spanish. I ignored it with glass after glass of rum and coke. I never ended up getting wasted though, sadly. It was fun to see everyone and I am glad they came. I received a few gifts. Some chocolate that I definitely don't need after the three cakes that I had!! The cakes were pretty good, but so so sweet. Almost too sweet for me to like. My friend Tamara made me a cake that wasn't so sweet and I like that the best I think. The in-laws bought me a cake that was layers of merengue and cream and raspberries. It was very good and the berries made it a little less sweet. It was nice. At work the next day I had a cake with my coworkers. It was almost the same, but there was lucuma instead of raspberries. I don't know how to describe what lucuma is, but its some kind of fruit. hahah good description!! That was nice too. They also gave me a book in English!! I can't wait to read it!!! So it wasn't too bad of a Birthday, but I was still thinking about being at home by a fire with my other friends a lot. I can't wait for my vacation next month!!

Hey, yeah it really does help me to write about this stuff! And to know I'm not the only one who doesn't like my job :) As far as a job in Chile when I get there, I was thinking of teaching, just because I'm not sure I'd be able to find something else... if I could, that would be great! We'll see I guess.. like you, I think it would be cool to be able to find a job working with Americans.. but I'm up for anything that pays the bills really ;) Hang in there through the winter! I think I read in one of your posts that you got an electric blanket, so hopefully that'll make the freezing nights a little more bearable. And just remember you've got that vacation coming soon! :)
