The Nerd that is My Niece!!

I haven't seen my Raebelle in a long long time, but the pics that my sister sends me are great! I have a great video she sent me, but I don't know how to put it on here. But this picture gets me super freaking excited!! It has to be hot there!!! And watermelon!!! And summer!!! Oh I can't wait!!! 9 more days til I see this little goober and I can actually see all the nerdy things that she does instead of just hear about them!! My favorite so far has been that she carries a medicine ball around the living room. And the ball probably weighs half as much as she does!! Hahahah! Well, off to pay for my return ticket!! Yay!!!

My hubby has a blog, he doesn't update it very often. But, I have added it to my reads list and I think you should read it. He obviously has pretty bad written English. Trust me, he speaks way better than he writes. I find his never ending sentences entertaining. Seriously he never ends a sentence throughout the whole post!! Anywho, check it out. Sigh, silly husband. I love him crazy though!

17 Days Left

17 more days left here in Chile before I jet back to MN for my vacation. Normally before I leave to the US, I say a much needed vacation, but the part that is much needed is the family, the friends, talking, laughing having fun. Usually before I leave for the US I have been working. This time not. I am super excited to go fishing and swimming *in a lake, I have swam in the Pacific one time and probably never ever again. I also can't wait to see my niece. She hasn't grown very much since I left, which is strange because she was 9 months and now she is 1 year old. But she has grown some hair and attitude. She also never sits still and will probably have some sort of strange computer issues for the rest of her life because my mom and brother follow her around with me on the computer screen. Sigh, so weird when you really think about it, but that's probably the life of my future kids. I am also excited to be outside!! In fresh air!! With no smog for miles and miles and miles!!! I am dreading the beginning few days when I am home and I have to try to remember where I put this and that...somehow I'll find my roller blades and the charger for my camera that got left behind! I am flying solo this trip, Ro is staying back here and being a responsible loving husband. This summer is also a bit more open as of now than last year. So far I only have very very few plans for when I am home. My BFF Madge is picking me up at the airport and from there we will wander our way North from the Twin Cities to good old Htown. Where we will most likely drop my crap off at my parents, give lots of hugs and kisses to my Yorkie Zoe, and maybe get in a post flying halfway around the world shower. After that we will hit the local watering hole, sigh yes, I live in the middle of now where! But my town does have 3 bars, 2 churches and one gas station. Wahooo! Anyways off to the bar/restaurant for lunch and maybe an icey beer. The next day happens to be one of my FAVORITE family events that happens every year. I don't remember the last time I was home for it, but this year because my husband is so wonderful, he let me change my ticket for 4 days earlier so that I could participant in the Tour de Soo. Yes, you may be wondering what the F that is. Well, the Tour de Soo is a bike ride a 14 mile bike ride. We start this bike ride at my parent's house in Htown and bike the Lake Wobegon Trail aka SOO Line. We stop halfway at the bar in another tiny middle of nowhere town and then proceed to my aunt's house where we have a bbq and I believe this year will also be a combo bach party for my uncle and future aunt. Anyways its pretty much a big drunken ball of fun. My uncle is getting married that following weekend. And then I have nothing, but sun and relaxing until the 4th of July! Another wedding in July and then back to Chile. Sigh. But back to something better! Ro has promised me that when I get back, I will come back to my own place!! :oD Well, our own place! So if I don't blog at all for months I am sorry!!

Housewife...sort of.

I have decided to write about what it is like being a housewife...sort of. Right now, I don't have a job so Rodrigo is supporting us 100%. I haven't worked since January when I was in Minnesota. Of course I don't exactly like this situation, I like working and I like making money. I also love when I have money in my pocket so I can buy things. No, I am not a crazy shopper, I don't spend a lot of money shopping just for fun, but it would be nice to be able to buy something just for fun. Rodrigo doesn't mind me asking him for money to buy things, but I don't like it. I feel guilty that he is working all day everyday and I am...blogging, keeping up my farm on farmville, reading, crocheting, and watching reruns of Friends all day. I can't even be a proper housewife because well, this is not my house. So, during the week sometimes I make the bed, I putz around tidying the whopping two flat surfaces that seem to act as my mother would say a "catch-all" and it is my job to open the windows in our room in the morning and close them at night. If I am in the house alone when it gets dark, I have to turn on the yard light. I really want to rearrange our bedroom, but I can't. I have nowhere to put all the stuff in our room while I move the big stuff and I know a certain MIL would have a freaking cow if I put it in the living room, even if it was just for an hour. I have to wait until weekends to do any laundry and for the past few weeks, I have only been able to wash two loads for the weekend because MIL no longer lets us have the whole day on Saturday and Sunday to wash. Our laundry basket hasn't been completely empty for weeks.
Ro and I went to the mall on Wednesday and it was so nice to spend the day together.  We went to all the big stores, Ripley, Paris, and Falabella. Ro has decided that we are getting a huge refrigerator when we move out. I think he's crazy, we don't need a gigantic fridge, its just the two of us for now. But I do know that if he gets his way on getting a gigantic fridge AND a king size bed, (when will men learn that bigger is not always better?) he better at least let me get cake pans, muffin tins, pie tins, and anything else I want to bake with. I doubt I will ever be able to spend as much on kitchen stuff as the king size bed and gigantic fridge, but at least I know I will have everything I need to make anything I am in the mood for. While I am in the US, I was planning on getting a set of silicone bakeware and a crock pot. I have been trying to find a crock pot here in Chile, but I give up. Oh in case you would like to buy a book of recipes for a Crock Pot, they do sell those here in Chile, but you can't find a crock pot anywhere. Still can't figure out why they sell a recipe book for something they don't sell, but that's Chile for you I guess. Anyways I am stoked about the crock pot because when I come back to Chile, I will be finding a job and working all day!! I can't wait. I can't wait to fill my crock pot with meat and potatoes and veggies and set it on low and come home from work with supper ready for hubby and I to eat!! I can't wait to have my own kitchen where I can keep my food instead of in the grocery bags on our bedroom floor! Only a few more months!!!
