Guess what?!?!

Ro and I really got our butts moving last night!!! We started organizing our clothes by putting all the clothes we are bring in his closet and putting all the stuff we are taking into our dresser. Well, that just started the ball rolling. Once we had everything separated, we put all the dirty clothes that no way in hell if we washed them would they be anywhere close to dry in plastic bags and packed them into our suitcases. And we just continued from there. We charged all of our electronics that required charging. We put together all the paperwork Ro is bringing for customs, gathered passports, credit cards, and have it all put together. Ro is about 98% packed! I am about 95% packed and the only thing that I have left to pack are the clothes that I will be wearing for the rest of the week, my makeup, and all the shower stuff!!! I am so happy and relieved that we are packed!! Now I can just relax and continue to crochet for the next two days before our semi-busy weekend!! :D

Haven't Started Yet.....

So, I still haven't started packing, I have however begun to get things ready. I have a list. Yesterday I crocheted a little case for my ipod so I don't have to worry about scratching it in my backpack like I did on my last trip. That's it. Why? I don't know. I am starting to get very mixed emotions about going back to the US. I am pretty sure that would be the Stgo winter hitting me. Usually going home I am super excited, this time though I am very nervous. We have to get Ro through customs before everything is in the clear. I have always gone home by myself in the past, so I just wandered through customs quick and easy and that was that. I have been trying to keep myself busy by crocheting. I am getting pretty good I think. I should put up pics of the elephant I made. I also made myself a soap saver and one for my sister too. Why am I crocheting when I should be packing?? I don't know!!! I need to get on it. I have a feeling that I have a very hungover weekend coming up and we have to have everything packed before Friday because we are having a party and our ginormous suitcases cannot be just sitting around the house!! (I borrowed a huge suitcase from a Chilean friend so now we have 3 big ones and two little carry ons.) I am kind of worried and super crabby about this "going away" party we are having. People that don't even know me have been asking Ro if they can come and one of his friends wants to bring 10 people...they don't know us at all so why would they come to our going away party. I just get frustrated because some of these people have come to a party here in the past and they don't pitch in to buy rum, so they drink what everyone else pitched in for and then we end up having to put more of our money in. Not that the plan is to get wasted, but still, I don't want to spend a bunch of money we don't have to!!! Anyways, I really should be packing, cleaning, or organizing and not goofin aroung on blogspot, facebook or anything else!!!!

Chanol

So our weekend didn't exactly go as we had originally wanted it to. BUT, it actually turned out to be a really good. We went bowling and had a great time, Ro kicked our asses, but it was great. When we had to give them our names of course they did not spell my name right, nor did they even write it right after Rodrigo spelled in out for them!! Are you joking?? Hahaha, C-H-A-N-O-L.....how do you get that from S-H-A-N-O-N??? Rodrigo didn't even put in that extra "n"!!!! Somebody didn't go to school!!
Bowling in Chile, at least the place we went to is about a billion times different than in the US. People in the US actually know how to throw the ball, they know what weight of a ball they should be using, and the balls at bowling alleys are not missing huge chunks out of them that actually cause the ball to wobble and not go straight. After our bowling, we decided to go play pool. Well, we waited for a table to open longer than we actually got to play. The man said just wait it will be a few minutes. Of course I should have known that a few minutes can be an hour!!! When we finally got our table I was just plain tired!! I didn't really get the game we were playing, it definitely wasn't the normal triangle game I have always played. I would describe it as chasing the balls around the table one number at a time. It took FOREVER!! We just barely finished one game in an hour!! Ro and I lost. Big time!!!! I have to say if we would have played my game, we would have won!! :P
Now, we are going to get ready to pack, we have just a few clothes that we want to wash tomorrow and then everything will be ready in that section to go. We also have to go and take our money out of the bank and exchange it for dollars, buy a few things from here, and print out our e-tickets. Then we are ready ready ready to go!!! :D

We Make Plans and Then THEY Break Them!

So today we were supposed to be packing up the car and heading to lago Rapel with a group of friends. There was going to be 8 of us going so I was excited and looking forward to a good way to make a few days go by faster. But of course, you can't count on a Chilean to keep their word, making plans is like some kind of game. They think that everyone else is just dreaming and that these things really aren't going to happen. Well, I thought for sure we would be going. We had everything planned out, a house reserved, food to bring divided into who brings what, and plans on when we are leaving. Everything. Well, problems started on Wednesday when subject T decided that she wanted to go too. So we rearranged everything only to find out Thursday that subject T didn't have money so she couldn't go. GRRR Why ask if you can go with if you don't have money in the first place!?!??! Ok, so fine we were back to just the 8 originally planning on going. When subject C told us that she can't stay until Sunday. Ok, fine, she will take a bus Saturday evening back to Stgo. Then she starts making excuses of why this bus and that bus won't work and finally decides that she will not be going. GRRRR It was her frickin idea in the first place!!! In the mean time Ro was trying to get the cell phone number of subject K because she doesn't get on messenger very often. She had a cow because he was asking for her cell number because she clearly was NOT going with us even after she confirmed that she was going 3 times. So we were down to 6 of us going. Which made the trip a bit more expensive for everyone, but it was still do-able. Well then subject A decides that he is not going because subject C is not going. He apparently was planning of flirting and trying to get something more from the weekend...fucking horny Chileans! So we are down to 5...not do-able. So A calls C and tries to convince her to go, finally she gives in, so we are back to 7....for about 5 minutes until subject C decides that she really doesn't want to go. Of course horny subject A also backs out again.
So in the end, we are not going. :( But I think we are having an asado tomorrow and going bowling! Which will be fun, not as fun as getting out of the smoggy Stgo air for a weekend, but in the end cheaper. Sigh....11 more days until I am in the US where people makes plans and actually keep them!!

2 weeks left and Oh CRAP!!

So as we only have two weeks left, I have been given permission to pack and talk as much as I want about packing!! FINALLY!! I have all my lists and I'm ready ready ready!! EXCEPT!! We took out one of my suitcases only to find that it is broken!!! Dammit!! I was glad we weren't going to have to buy another bag because Ro's was super HUGE, and now....looks like I am back to square one. I kind of want to just try and duct tape it and hope it holds out. Is there even Duct Tape here?? I'm talking the name brand stuff nothing cheap!! Or maybe we should just go out and buy a GOOD quality bag that will last for numerous trips since I don't see us taking any kind of breaks from traveling in the near future because looking back, I have been to Chile and back to the US 4 times, and I have had 3 suitcases break! I think I'm gonna have to give in and buy one. Ugh.

On another note, we watched the news about the swine flu. Apparently the name changed from gripe porcina to influenza humana since I last heard about it. Chile has been infected. So from now until we leave Ro and I are not going to be taking the subway anywhere. Hand sanitizer will be coming with us everywhere we go! I am so glad I bought 5 little bottles last time I was in the US!!! With this news, we are really considering wearing face masks when we travel. I think we will look stupid, but its better to be safe than sorry. But really is wearing a face mask going to protect us very well at all?? I am kind of worried now!!! :S

:D That suitcase is WAY bigger than I remember!!!

So Rodrigo's parents brought Ro's suitcase home from storing at his grandma's. I have to say that I was with Ro when he bought it, but CRIPES!!! I really don't remember it being as big as it is!! I am so happy! I don't think we are even going to be able to fill all the suitcases we have. We have decided that Ro will check two of the big bags, and I will check one. We we each have a small suitcase with wheels for carry ons and then I will have a backpack and Ro will have a very small duffel bag. And with all of that we really don't need another bag!! YAY!! So we have Ro's HUGE bag outside getting air and it will probably need at least three days of air and a good wipe down with soapy water before it is ready to be packed. A second big bag that is in storage will be brought out tomorrow, wiped and set to air out, and we will be ready for packing by Thursday. :D Of course I will start packing the other bags on Monday when I am FINALLY allowed to start packing!!!! I am super excited to be going home. Rodrigo is excited to be out of the house, but very nervous to meet my family.
So we are two weeks and a day until we head out!! I have lots to pack and I need to go shopping to get just a few things before we go. Presents and such. I honestly cannot think of one thing that I NEED to bring to the US. Whenever I come back here though, I can think of a million things that I NEED from the US!! Ro wants me to bring a couple packets of asparagus soup powder so I can make that for him a couple times while we are in the US. What really can I bring from here to there?? What would you bring??

Ah Man, Typical Trip to the Yorkie Breeder

So we went back to the place where we bought Zoe and where Ro's dad bought Rocio's puppy Micky. Without the "e".... Anyways. Back to the trip. Ro and I went inside and of course lie and say we are interested in buying another pup, just so we can see all the newbies. And OH MY GOSH!! I really didn't want one when we walked in, but first he brought out the 2 month olds. They were meh...ok, clumsy, cute, but they just didn't shine, they didn't have whatever Zoe had the day we got her. Then he brought out the only male 1 month old he had. Awwww!!! He was perfect!! He had shiny hair and a cute loving way of being. I held him for like 15 minutes. I fell in love with him. I really really really want him. He comes from a line of champions. His parents are pretty little so he would be probably 2 pounds lighter than Zoe who weighs 9 pounds. OH!! Side note. My lil niece Evalie passed up Zoe on her weight and she had those cute little leg rolls!! Ah I can't wait to hug her and squeeze her!!! OH!! Another side note!! My aunt had her baby yesterday!! Another lil girl! Lily, I am kind of sad that the name that was first on my girl's name list is taken... :(
Okay back to cute puppy! Ro and I really want this puppy!! And we can't have him because we are going to the states, and we can't bring him to the US because he won't have shots and of course there is no way in hell I will let his very good temper be ruined my the MIL and SIL spoiling the crap out of him! So.... :( no cute lil boyfriend for Zoe. Maybe when we get back we can look into getting a little man, and hopefully we can bring Zoe back here! I miss her and I don't want to leave her in the US! Ahhh the US!! 17 days!!!!!!

May 13th

"There are certain moments in life after which you know life will never be the same. These are the milestones, and May 13th was one of them. Time will be forever divided in two; the time before, and the time after." -Clint

Wayne dear, I still love you, I still miss you, and I still wish you were here. I always will. 2 years have gone by without you. I hope you look down sometimes and make sure I'm doing okay. I'll see you again some day. XOXO

I am wrong because she is a mother and I am not......really?

So while we were driving home from Mother's Day festivities yesterday somehow we got to a conversation about how it is bad to pet a dog and then hold a baby.
Ok, so there are germs there, but in this argument, MIL stated that the baby will give the dog a cold and the dog will give the baby it's sicknesses. I told her that is not true. Humans and dogs carry different sicknesses that neither can give to the other. Rodrigo even asked our vet when Zoe was sick the first time if Zoe could have gotten it from him. The vet laughed at him and said with a cold it isn't possible.
Of course I cannot be right because....I am not a mother and I have not raised kids.
So I have come to the conclusion that when I have children, I will then be blessed with losing all of the common sense knowledge that I have, but I will be as smart as her because I am a mother. Right?
While we are on the subject of babies, I will tell you some other stories that have happened since Ro's aunt had a baby in January.
1. The first time I went to see M. she was 3 weeks old. Her father told Rodrigo to tell me that she can't walk yet, so I can't set her down. Really? What the hell planet do you think I am from? Of course a 3 week old baby can't walk!
2. I was holding M. when she was 2 months old and I was holding her so she was in a standing position because it is good for babies. Everyone stared at me like I was crazy and told me I can't do that because it is very very bad for her. I gave in and just sat her in my lap.
3. Last week I was holding her again. She was reaching for her toes and leaning over. Again...this is very very bad for a baby. I gave in again.
4. I also overheard them talking. And apparently the baby can start eating food when it is 7 months old!! 7 MONTHS!!! To me that seems crazy because I am pretty sure you are supposed to feed a baby once it is 4 to 5 months old. And at 7 months you can start giving them chocolate milk and bread.
I can't wait to have a kid just so they can try and tell me what to do and I can say, "No, I am the mother so I am smarter than you."

Please try not to PANIC!!!

You know how I was so freaking excited to go to the US. Well, now I am worried. We have NO money. That job that my husband had, the one where he brought in all of his papers and they were making a pass for him to get into the airport and everything, well they said, "We'll call you." They never called. Ro called them, but to me it sounds fucked up that every single time he called no matter the time, the boss, "was in a meeting." So I guess that turned into a no go. Ro had an interview this morning to work in a mall restaurant. He got the, "We'll call you." I really hope this time they call. We need the money. We need it freaking badly!! I hope it is easy for me to find a job when I am in the US. Hopefully I will at least get a part time job, I am really hoping to get a full time job.
Besides that, we really need another bag. A big luggage bag. And they aren't cheap here at all. The one I really wanted was at the Saxoline store and we looked at it a few months ago. Ro already has one exactly the same as the one I want. We went back about 2 weeks ago, and they are sold out!! The only ones left in Chile are in Concepcion!! No way we can go there just for a bag!! I also looked at HEAD and there was another that was similar to the one that Ro has. It is pretty much a HUGE duffel bag with a suitcase sort of compartment underneath it. And it has wheels. The only problem? I can't quite make myself fork out $120 for a piece of luggage.
Ugh...why does money always catch up to me. I can never get ahead! I always get ahead and then when everything looks good, I just fall behind again.

If anyone has a HUGE bag/suitcase that they want to sell or are willing to let Ro and I borrow until we return in September please let us know!! Or if you know anyone that is trying to sell one please let us know!!! Thank you!!!

ONE MONTH!!!!

In two weeks I will start packing our bags. Yeah I said OUR bags. I know if I let Ro pack he will bring 5 items of clothing, 50 billion electronic things that he doesn't need, 10 hats, and like 8 pairs of shoes. So I will be packing for the most part! I can't wait! Usually I hate packing, but I am pretty sure that was only sue to the fact that EVERY time I have packed in the last 2 years, I was leaving something, somewhere, or someone I loved. This time I am taking my lover with me!!

Anyways, tonight we are having a taco party so if anyone wants to come, you are more than welcome!!! I have filled the freezer with ice. Oh, and I threw away the leftovers of Rodrigo's birthday cake. I honestly hope I get yelled at for throwing it away. But seriously who wants a piece of freezer burnt over a month old cake?? Not me!! It was nasty 3 days after his Bday!! Ewww!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
