I will be back in my husband's arms with my dog Zoe in tow in exactly 2 weeks. Nothing stresses me out like flying with my dog, but at least this time the vet gave me some sleeping pills. For the dog of course, although I wouldn't mind some myself! I bought her a new bag to fly in because she chewed the last one to shit. I don't blame her though, she was only a puppy when I brought her here. I am happy to say that she does like the new one. Not a very good pic because I took it with my cellphone, but you can see that she is all snuggled up inside sleeping. :o)
I have decided to write down the stats of Ro and I because I finally see how ridiculous it is how much time we have spent apart especially during our marriage! But, the end of that is near, I hope. I am planning on trying not to visit the US for so long without Ro anymore...
January 8th 2007, I met Rodrigo.
January 21st, 2007, he asked me to be his girlfriend. I said yes!
March 28th, 2007, he left Montana and went back to Chile. I said goodbye to him at the airport not knowing if I would ever see him again.
July 10th, 2007, I landed in Santiago Chile, planning on staying for 3 months. At the time we didn't know I could jump the border to renew the 90 day tourist visa.
October 7th, I flew back to Minnesota to work and help Ro get a tourist visa to come to the US. He didn't get it. His dad bought me a plane ticket back to Chile.
January 15th, 2008, I landed back in Santiago, not knowing how long I was going to stay in Chile.
July 17th, 2008, I went back to the US, but only for a couple weeks. My shortest trip to Minnesota.
August 29th, I landed back in Chile and then, we were engaged!
September 2nd, 2008, Ro and I were married at the registro civil in Pudahuel, Santiago, Chile.
December 18th, 2008, I came back to Minnesota to celebrate the holidays with my family. Rodrigo and I have never spent Christmas or New Years together. And you know what? That's sad!
January 13th, 2009, I went back to Santiago.
June 1st, 2009, Rodrigo and I went to Minnesota together! He met my family for the first time!
September 22nd, 2009, Rodrigo left me in Minnesota to work, while he went back to Chile to work. This was our longest time apart since we have been together.
January 21st, 2010, I landed back in Santiago Chile and started all the paperwork to get my work visa so we would have 2 incomes to support us instead of just one. I sent out the paperwork 2 weeks later.
February 27th, 2010, we all know what happened. The ground shook and gave the immigration office a good excuse to lose my paperwork. I received my temporary visa 3 weeks before I was headin back up here for my uncle's wedding and my cousin's wedding this summer.
June 3rd, 2010, I left Santiago, again without my husband. I have been here ever since, I was supposed to fly back July 19th, but I had to change my ticket because Zoe's rabies shot wasn't "aged" enough inside her or whatever it does that after a month its ok to bring her.
August 8th, 2010, I will land back in Chile. I have a no date return ticket to MN, that will be used only in case of emergency.
Rodrigo and I have been together for 3 and a half years. We have been APART 60 weeks or those 3 and a half years. That means we have spent over a year apart! A WHOLE YEAR :( So, that's the end of that. I am moving to Santiago, Santiago is going to be "home" for me.

oy i've never counted the number of days (months, YEARS???) that R & I have been separated over the 7 years we've been together....too depressing. good thing you'll be back together again soon and yes, very sad you've never spent the holidays together.
Yeah, its better not to... I am so excited to be together again!! Not sure about spending the holidays in Chile, but very happy that I will get to spend them with him :)
