We've been cursed by the gypsy lady and that is not gray miss, its lilac....

I have two stories today, the first makes me a little nervous and the second is exactly what to expect with Chilean customer service.

Today and everyday this week a lady came to the gate and banged on it with a stick or something and yelled, "allloooooo!" over and over again. Why? She wants us to give her money. What I don't understand is why she comes to the same effin street every single day. Tito, my FIL gave her something the first day, but she came back. He-we didn't give her anything since, but she keeps coming back. Rodrigo tells me that she is a gypsy. Today Tito informed us that we are under a curse. The gypsy left a flower filled with ants on our sidewalk. What is going to happen? I don't really know, but what I don't understand is why someone would put a curse on a family that gave her money in the first place. We are not required to give her money, we work, we pay OUR grocery bill we shouldn't have to pay hers. So I guess we are cursed. On what? For how long? I don't know....maybe til the flowers wilts into nothing. Maybe the ants are going to take over our house...bahhhahahaha.

Secondly I have taken up crocheting. Just for fun and since I don't like to make the same things twice, I am constantly buying yarn in different colors. Today I am making an elephant. So I went to buy some GRAY yarn. I also bought 3 other colors and they aren't the tipical blue, yellow, red, blah blah blah. They are the kind of colors that you have to say its kind of a blue color, no left, left, down one, yeah that one. Anyways, I saw the perfect gray for my cute little elephant and we (Ro went with me.) were telling her no down one, another one, no to the left, left more, and she just kept skipping over the one that I wanted!! Finally after landing her finger on it she said to us, that is not gray. That is lilac. Like it makes a difference!! It was the color I wanted and I think its gray so give it to me. I then had to proceed through the typical Chilean let me give you a slip of paper, you go pay, bring back the other slip of paper, and then I'll give you your bag. Of course when I got back from paying the same effin lady that helped us asked what I bought....there was nobody left in the store, is it really that difficult to remember the customer you just helped?? Especially if she is obviously gringa and barfs out a Spanish so terrible it really can't be called Spanish. Finally she remembered me, but where did she put that bag??? Seriously??? Grrrrrr!!!!!
Anyways, now I have my GRAY yarn and I'm going to make my elephant. I'll post pics if it turns out cute enough!!! I'll post pictures too if it turns out horrible so I am not the only one laughing at my stupidity.

LOL, gypsy ladies can get a little crazy. One squirted breast milk onto my friend's money once. EW.

I find gypsies kind of scary because I just don't know what to expect from them. They can be very insistent (as you have discovered) and they play on people's supersititions (don't give in to the red flower thing!).
The good thing is that they don't stay in one place very long, so hopefully she'll be on her way soon!
