I sent out my CV to a couple places yesterday, and now I just have to wait and hope something turns up.
Now I have time once again to spend with the hubby. Today we are going to the mall to window shop. I need to make a list of what it is going to cost to "set up house." Since Ro and I aren't having our wedding this year, we won't be getting all those wonderful house setting up gifts. Instead of enjoying as much of MY summer as I can, I am now planning on working a full time job AND a part time job on the side. The more money I can make and save in the US, the better. I for sure want to make sure I can pay off all my credit cards. I am not that far in debt, it might take a month at both jobs to pay it off, leaving me with 2 and a half months of cash to bring back to Chile.
Hopefully on top of my 2 jobs I will be able to go rock picking or babysit for some more extra cash. It kind of makes me sad that I won't be able to do all the fun stuff that will be going on, but it is SOOO worth it knowing that when I come back to Chile I won't be in the MIL's house anymore! I have to prioritize my list of things I want to do and things I really have to do, and pretty much shove everything else to the side. I HAVE to go to my brother's and cousins' graduation parties, and I HAVE to go to my niece's baptism in June. The rest of the stuff that month will probably be cut out. As for my B-day, I will probably just go out the weekend after to the small town bar/restaurant to celebrate with a few friends. It's my 21st, I'm not blowing all my cash just because I can legally drink in the US of A. I don't have anything that I HAVE to go to in July except my sis and I are going to see Ice Age 3 the day after her Bday. I would like to go to Appleriver and float down the river, but I will have to see how much that will cost. August there are two things that I HAVE to do, just to make my time in the US worth it. The first is girl's weekend where all my aunts and my mom, grandma and other female relatives in the family go to a hotel and have lots of fun!!! :D The other is a camping trip, one that my family has been going on for 13 or so years, and I have missed the last 3 or 4 times of going. This year, I AM going! August also has our town's garage sale day and I would also like to wander around there a bit and see if I can find any treasures :D September will be when I work the most because there is only one thing that I HAVE to do in September and that is my cousin's wedding. And then 3 days later, back to Chile. And hopefully into an apartment, new job, and maybe I will be a bit happier in this country.
Ok, enough for now, I will sit here and wait, wait for a reply on a job, wait to be able to buy my plane ticket home, wait wait wait.
*I'm gonna bake some fruit pizza, I know all the ingredients except baking powder, I looked it up on wordreference and it says its levadura en polvo. Since wordreference isn't always God, can someone please confirm this before I make my husband ask for it at the super market only to get a worker look at us like we are out of our minds.
thank you!!!

1) you don't have to blow money on your 21st birthdays, that's what all your friends that take you out are for.
2) I actually bought baking powder a jumbo and it was called.... Baking powder. haha no really the jar is in english, the brand is "clabber girl." otherwise here they sell flour as "harina con polvos de hornear" or "harina sin polvos de hornear" so he just wants those polvos de hornear seperate hahaha.
3) what the heck is "rock picking" and how does that bring in $
Lydia, I guess I never thought about my friends buying me drinks...
I'll have to go to Jumbo and look for it!!
You're from MN and you don't know what rock picking is??? haahah its when you walk through the fields and pick out the rocks that will get in the way of the corn growing. :D some people pay $50 a day. It takes a few days to empty one field....makes money. :P
