So as we only have two weeks left, I have been given permission to pack and talk as much as I want about packing!! FINALLY!! I have all my lists and I'm ready ready ready!! EXCEPT!! We took out one of my suitcases only to find that it is broken!!! Dammit!! I was glad we weren't going to have to buy another bag because Ro's was super HUGE, and now....looks like I am back to square one. I kind of want to just try and duct tape it and hope it holds out. Is there even Duct Tape here?? I'm talking the name brand stuff nothing cheap!! Or maybe we should just go out and buy a GOOD quality bag that will last for numerous trips since I don't see us taking any kind of breaks from traveling in the near future because looking back, I have been to Chile and back to the US 4 times, and I have had 3 suitcases break! I think I'm gonna have to give in and buy one. Ugh.
On another note, we watched the news about the swine flu. Apparently the name changed from gripe porcina to influenza humana since I last heard about it. Chile has been infected. So from now until we leave Ro and I are not going to be taking the subway anywhere. Hand sanitizer will be coming with us everywhere we go! I am so glad I bought 5 little bottles last time I was in the US!!! With this news, we are really considering wearing face masks when we travel. I think we will look stupid, but its better to be safe than sorry. But really is wearing a face mask going to protect us very well at all?? I am kind of worried now!!! :S

That's crazy about the influenza humana or whatever. I heard one of the sick girls took the metro to the doctor's.
Good luck with the suitcases. I invested in some good ones before I came ot Chile a few trips ago and I still have them. They are my babies.
Sara, that would be why Rodrigo and I are NOT taking the subway anywhere and we going to try to not go out very much either. We are also going to be pumping our bodies with Vitamin C and lots and lots of water before we leave!!
What brand of suitcases did you get? I have been thinking about buying a nice set really soon, I am sick of mine breaking!! I have looked at some here in Chile. Saxoline, I don't really know if that is a good brand, but Ro has an Xtrem by the makers of Saxoline and it has held up well in 3 trips to the US, just a few normal scuffs....
Hmm, I guess I'm not one to worry about those sorts of things, but I also don't take a lot of public transportation, so yeah. Maybe better safe than sorry.
