My FAVORITE Thing About Chile

I bitch and complain a lot about Chile, but there are A LOT of things here that I actually like a lot more than in the US. Here is my short, very short list. Hey, I tried...

5. Liter of beer. I think this is super cool that you can get a giant bottle of beer to share for super cheap. I don't really like beer all that much, but my favorite day back in Montana was when we bought 40's, wrapped them in paper bags, and went for a walk. Sharing a beer is fun. It always brings everyone to a better mood, and of course interesting conversations.

4. Cute little cars. I love little gas friendly cars. They are everywhere here. It amazes me how many newer cars there are on the streets. Driving in St. Cloud, MN you mostly see beat up old cars, pick up trucks from the 90's and occasionally some cute little new car. My favorite car here I think is the KIA Morning. It's so cute, if I ever buy a car here, which I probably won't because drivers here scare me! I would probably buy a KIA Morning.

3. Palm trees in the winter. When I first arrived here on my very first trip, it was winter. I was not expecting to see palm trees at all. I took a bunch of pictures with them in it just because I had never been anywhere with palm trees before. Now in the winter when I see palm trees it reminds me that I live in a country where it gets VERY hot in the summer so the palm trees are ok.

2. People watching happens to be one of my favorite hobbies and here I find it a lot more fun. Although I need to learn to keep my laughing to myself, but sometimes I really can't help it. Some styles here that people try to pull off crack me up! I saw an ancient lady the other day with a cane just walking slow and I thought"Oh, how cute." I got closer and she was wearing higher heals than anything I would ever allow myself out of the house with. That has to be a hazard. She had cane for crying out loud!! I also see so many crazy mullets its amazing. I hate mullets!! I don't find them stylish at all!! I also like to watch people on the subway, I once saw and old lady with her hair all done up in this HUGE poof thing. She was also wearing a visor/bonnet thing and the bill of her hat thing was like three times bigger than her head! I had to take a double look because I couldn't take it all in at once. I also get very annoyed when people look at me at all!! When they stare at me longer than others I look directly at them and give them an evil look, but only when Ro is there with me of course, I don't have the balls to do something like that when I am alone.

1. AND my NUMBER ONE! Holidays. Chile has A LOT of holidays and we don't have to work on them!! In the US I always worked on holidays, 4th of July, Easter, Xmas, New Years, you name it I probably worked it! Here we don't have to work! I love it. There's at least one holiday in every month! Except Feb, Apr, June, and October, but some of the other months have 2 days so I don't mind. There's nothing like having a three day weekend! It's my favorite thing ever!! Well, maybe its my favorite thing today because tomorrow is a holiday, but whatever!!
