So, I have read many blog posts about cat calls and I have never experienced this at all while I have been in Chile, until last night. AND this morning.
Ro and I were walking home yesterday and heard whistling . I thought nothing of it and ignored it while we crossed the street. A minute later, the truck caught up to us and the man in the passenger's seat was pretty much hanging out the window yelling something. Ro flipped him off and I didn't even know what the guy said. I asked Ro, and he said that man said, "You are beautiful, my love." After that the man got on the loud speaker and was whistling at me. What the hell?!?! Who goes on a loud speaker while driving a propane truck and whistles at someone. I asked Rodrigo why the man was doing that. He told me that guys do that all the time and blah blah blah. My first cat call.
Today when I was going to work, I was walking to the subway, and some guy was hanging out the window on a bus shouting and whistling. I looked over and he blew me a kiss. First I looked around to see if maybe the guy's girl was close by or something. I didn't see anyone unless he was dating and old lady with a cane. EWWW. I continued walking. I don't understand why anyone would do that. I look like crap today, messy hair, no makeup, my usual way of going out during the week. Hahaha. So that's how that went.
Changing the subject, Rodrigo and I are getting married on Saturday. Just the civil wedding with the papers and whatnot. I find that whole thing kind of funny. Ro went to the place in our county to see if they could marry us soon, but they were booked til November. So, Ro's dad called some people he knows. (I love how he knows so many people!) And a man agreed to marry us this Saturday but we had to go to a different county. So, Rodrigo and I are getting married in a house that we have never been to in Pudahuel. I don't know how he went about finding a house. It is his friend's parent's house, but still. What do you do, walk up to them and say," Hey can I borrow your house so I can get married?" hahaha
