Ok so the big day still stands at August 8th.
I think I am doing good on the planning for the most part.
Before leaving MN, I did purchase my dress!! It was kind of exciting. I didn't try on that many different dresses because I was dead set on the first one I saw online. In the end I tried on and Alfred Angelo version of the dress I wanted, and then went to David's Bridal and pretty much fell back in love with the dress I first saw. I tried on one other one, but it had this scratchy lace crap on the neck and drove me insane. So, the dress is bought, along with a slip to make it all poofy and pretty and a $90 bra to make my what's a good word to use...chest, ta-tas, boobs, your busty word of choice?? look excellent, not to mention that it sucks in a bunch of that doughiness I got from my holiday trip to the US. Even though I do plan on losing weight before the big event, the lady made me get the right size dress for me at the time, so I hope it doesn't look like a garbage bag on me. No shoes yet, but for sure I WILL NOT be wearing heals since I hate them and Ro and I are the same height so I don't want to tower over him. I am borrowing a veil from a family member, I send out an email and now have a few choices for a veil. So there's the new and borrowed, now I need the old and blue.....
I talked to the marriage counselor person at the church. Ro and I have been working on a DVD and workbooks since we can't actually take the marriage class. We have also decided on the readings and gospel and the other mass stuff. The church is booked, we just have to wait to find out about the music and singers and stuff.
Invitations...well I have nothing done for this. Well, I have a fake one on the computer that I like. I have all the wording how I want it and stuff. I don't even know when is the right time before the wedding to send them out. I don't have a list either...yeah...a little slow on this section..I should get my butt moving.
Bridesmaid dresses, I am working on it as best as I can. Since I don't really know or think anyone is coming to the US from Chile anymore, I am trying to figure out who will be my bridesmaids. In the beginning I had a friend coming from here and Ro's sister was also going to be one, but at the moment the sister is not coming and I am not 100% sure on the friend. So at the moment, I have 4 people that are my bridesmaids, and they are working on getting the dresses and stuff. I told them the colors, and my thoughts and the dresses that I like, and now I'm pretty much putting it into their hands to decide. And since my sister is prego ready to pop right now, she can't exactly try on dresses.
Tuxes, I'm not that worried about. We can do that in June when Ro is home.
Reception. The place is booked. I have a few ideas for decorations. I have a few family members planting white flowers and I´ll use those for decorations. The DJ has been booked...see last post for pic, laugh...he is our DJ, and an old friend of mine.
Guest book and champagne flutes are being taken care of by my godmother, she is making the flutes!! How cool is that?!?!
The cake....Rodrigo wants chocolate, I want marble...nothing more decided with that. I have looked at a lot of cake toppers and I have decided that I want one that we will be able to use as a decoration later.
For the ceremony, I have flowers lined up. Ro and I have decided to do unity sand instead of a unity candle. So we are currently looking for some kind of amazing clear glass bottle-vase-container thing. We have decided on the color of sand we each want, but I'm not ordering that til I get to the US.
I think that about sums up where I am at....

Exciting! I love your description of the bra to make your ta-tas look great and suck in doughiness.
So, you get to have weddings in two hemispheres. That'll be a good story to tell the grandkids someday :)
it is an amazing bra!! I can't believe that I got talked into buying it. My wedding dress does suck everything in...the bra was just amazing!!
If I get my way, we aren't going to have an second wedding here in CHile, a party probably, but if my suegra gets her way...which I don't want, we will be having a huge deal church then after party....
I have never posted here before, but I have been following along on your blog and love to read about your life in Chile. Makes me want to travel even more! But I wanted, if you don't mind, to suggest something about your wedding invitations. You will save an absolute fortune if you print them yourself or have someone who knows their way around a computer and printer do it for you. I did this for my wedding and they turned out better than anything I could have ordered and they were WAY cheaper. As far as sending them out goes, I think the rule of thumb is 3 months so that people have enough time to RSVP. All in all, I admire your courage to plan your wedding from another country. I had a hard enough time doing it three hours from the town I got married in! Good luck with the planning and thanks for sharing all your adventures!
Thanks for reading Shawna. I have been thinking about having them just printed on a home printer and fancying them up with a ribbon of our wedding color. Thanks for the help! I really do need to get on those invites!
