Let my just write the typical last day of the year post.

How do you measure a year? I hate the movie Rent, but I do like that one song. 2010 felt extremely long to me... I thought the older you get the faster the years fly by. Let's go alllll the way back!
January 1, I actually can't remember if I even stayed up til New Years, I know I was at the cabin fishing with the usual crowd.
January 21st, I landed back in Chile after being away from my Ro for 4 months, our longest separation. We once again lived with his parents, but we were very hopeful of me getting a job and moving out.
We filed for my visa on the 24th or 25th of February. Yeah. 2 days later the earth went a rumbling and those plans were shattered. We didn't hear anything about the visa until I had already gone back to the States for June and July.
June 12th, my youngest uncle was married, the last of the family. So I had to be there, the papers for my visa came 5 days after I left Chile. This kind of luck was the theme of my life in 2010.
Anyways, spent an amazing summer at home with my family and my dog, missed my Ro, but knew when I was going back, we were going to be super close to moving out!!
August 10?? ish I landed back in Chile. With Zoe!!! :) IT was almost great. Ro "fell asleep" so he said at the airport and I was very pissed off with the dog that needed to pee and of course the usual harassment by taxi drivers at the airport. Of course I didn't have my cellphone loaded so I couldn't call him. By the time he came and got me, I was almost in tears. Yes, wonderful welcome home day.
August 31st, Ro signed the rent agreement!! We moved in the next day! And so we have our own house!!
September came and went. We celebrated our second wedding anniversary.  We had minor problems with the house we are renting, major problems with the landlady and neighbor. I remain believing that he is a drug dealer. The cops have gone to his house for complaints 3 times since we have lived here. We didn't call, but it always scares me that he will think it was us.
October, can't think of any major milestones except I got a call on a job application. FINALLY!
November, I started working, we were FINALLY able to fix the calefont and ended our caveman showers for a little bit. Of course, we had to pay 50% of the fixing cost which is BULLSHIT because it didn't work when we moved in. Good thing we lied about how much it cost to fix!!
December. Still working, but I picked up some in office classes for some extra $$. Discovered that I love my job and I love the people I work with and I am actually excited to go to work most days. Except Mondays... never Mondays. I spent my very first Christmas in Chile. I really didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped I would.
And now I am going to be spending my first New Years here. I will finally get my first New Year's kiss from my husband!!! :) I am also wearing yellow underwear and I'm going to walk around the block with a suitcase. Happy 2011 to everyone!!!!

Its a tradition... or superstition here, you are supposed to wear yellow underwear, eat 12 grapes, eat a spoonful of lentils, walk around the block with a suitcase, drink champagne with a gold or jewels in the bottom, the only one I remember is if you walk around the block with a suitcase, that means you are going to travel a lot in the new year. Give the kids a hug from me. I miss you guys!! I can't believe its been over a year!! 2011 might be a very good year and if everything goes according to our plans we will be in the states the beginning of December!! Ro wants to go to college there... he wants to be a nurse.. this kind of surprised me, but I'm sure he can do it if he works hard!!
